Early Work
Yup a long long time ago I wanted to be Edward Kienholz or Micheal C McMillen (apologies to Michael C. McMillen for borrowing the title) My Senior Thesis @ Otis Parsons, I created an installation piece. Strangely I had spent most of my time in school painting, internal organs and various bones and teeth and really struggled with sculptural works .. I covered the walls with sheet lead. Used a metal desk as an examining table, covering the top with skin colored vinyl and sliced it down the middle and sew it back up with stitches. I created shelves to showcase my acquired collection of vintage medical tools. I embedded objects in paraffin wax and used lots of glass bottles of things in Formaldehyde.
